Do I Only Write Crime?

Interestingly, I thought that since my first book was about a crime, that I had somehow locked myself into a particular niche—CRIME WRITER—and so I wrote my second book (coming August 2026) about another crime with ties to New Hampshire, being the true story of the investigation into H. H. Holmes—born Herman Webster Mudgett in Gilmanton, New Hampshire.
However, I needed a bit of a break writing about such dark subject matter. I started to consider my other passions and favorite periods in history, and so I’ve decided to write my third book about a famous historical event, which is a bit of an obsession of mine. I won’t go into more detail now, but one day I’ll be able to share the topic—so be sure to sign up for my author newsletter to be the FIRST to know and follow me on Facebook and Instagram!
Will I write about other crimes?
For sure! I already know which true crime story I intend to write next.
I have a running list of topics I hope to one day write about. I only wish I had more time to write ALL of them.
Those who are privy to what I’m writing about next tell me it’s their most anticipated book from me! Ideally, I like the idea of trying to release a book every two and a half to three years, and this one should fall into that window. But I do want to give myself ample time to put out the best story I can and to give myself breathing room between releases, since they’re quite exhausting for a self-proclaimed introvert like me. I am happy to report that I am a year into the research for book three!
Stay tuned for my next blog about how I got into writing in the first place . . .
